Save money when eating out

Lately, I’ve had two of my favorite subjects, food and money, on my mind. Since the economy has slowed down, I have less of both. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not starving or losing my house. As a matter of fact, I have enough fat to hibernate for the winter but that is another subject.
Since my wife enjoys cooking, I really don’t have to worry about the food part that much. Our real problem is that we both like to explore the local restaurants in town. Since we have less disposable income, we don’t go out to eat as much as we used to. Not fun.
We went online to solve our problem and I think we found it. It’s a website called Restaurant.com. They offer $25 gift certificates for $10. And if you’re lucky enough to find a discount code you can get that $25 gift certificate for 2 to 5 bucks. Not bad…
The site is fairly simple.
- Go to Restaurant.com and enter your Zip Code or State.
- Pick the Restaurant that you would like to eat at.
- Pay with your credit or debit card then print the coupon.
- Oh yeah, don’t forget to take it with you : )
The bad thing about the site is that it is fairly new and your favorite restaurant may not be participating in the program yet. The other thing I dislike is that most of the restaurants usually have a higher minimum order and gratuity. I guess you can’t have it all…
Overall, Restaurant.com saves my wife and I money and we still get to enjoy eating out once in awhile : )
